Weekly Messages: Becoming a Hero of Faith (3)

An Igbo adage is translated thus: a fixed war does not meet a crippled man. This means that whenever a crippled man hears about war, he begins to make journey to make sure that the war does not meet. In the same way, you as a Christian ought to beware that the days ahead are perilous times and we must put yourself in order for the days ahead.

Becoming heroes of faith entails that we prepare ourselves for the days ahead both in this present time and for eternity. The heroes of faith recorded in the bible are typical examples of what we must represent. God expects us to keep the faith and finish the course of Jesus on earth and to finish well.

The heroes of faith are men who know God’s will and are ready to die for its fulfillment. They are men that will finish well. They are men that endure hardness. The heroes of faith are men are men who are submitted and committed to Christ. They are men and women that have dropped or sacrificed something that is valuable to them for the sake of the kingdom.
