THE LAW OF IGNORANCE OR DISREGARD TO THE DEMANDS OF THE CROSS

THE LAW OF IGNORANCE OR DISREGARD TO THE DEMANDS OF THE CROSS

STUDY SCRIPTURE:

But as for me, I will never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom the world has been crucified to me, and I to the world

  • Galatians 6:14 (HCSB)

Spiritual growth is a function of deliberate approach to the cross of Christ. Clinging to the cross puts fire in your bones and makes you highly resistant to the cares of this life and the caprices of the devil. Clinging to the cross simply means living by the dictates of Christ. Understanding the sacrifice of Jesus on the Cross is the first step to holiness and successful Christian life (Philippians 2:1-10).

Your spiritual growth determines how prosperous you will be and you will grow spiritually once consistently connected to the cross. When you don’t subscribe to the power of the cross, you will lack the power to live and win daily. As a believer, you must submit to the cross daily, if you must win and reign in life.

A person of the cross endures in the midst of affliction. The essence of the cross is to mature us as believers. A man of the cross does not celebrate what his present level in God, rather, he craves for a deeper walk with God on a daily basis. Thus, the world will be dead to him and he will also be dead to the world (Galatians 6:14 GNT).

WHAT THEN IS THIS CROSS?

  1. The cross is the crux of power. That is to say that it is the base of power to win and live daily.
  2. The cross is the New Testament power engine. That is to say that no power is realized until you cling to the cross.

Disregard to the cross and the sacredness of the cross is the reason for the powerlessness of the church and believers.

HOW DO WE DISREGARD THE CROSS?

  1. We disregard the cross by not applying the life of the cross (1 Corinthians 1:17).
  2. By not submitting to the details of the cross (Matthew 10:38).
  3. By not paying allegiance to the man on the cross. The cross is of no effect without the man on the cross (1 Corinthians 1: 18).

Receive grace to cease stop disregarding the cross of Christ in Jesus name. Amen
