BECOMING A TRUE SOLDIER PART 16

Training of the Spirit

Your spirit is the first point of attack; so when you are spiritually famished, your life is finished.                  (1 Corinthians 10:3). When you are not spiritually well fed, anything can have access to your spirit. Therefore, it takes the armor of God to overcome every form of deception of the devil.

What it takes to be a true soldier (training in the spirit)

  1. The training in the Word of God (Sword of the Spirit) –Ephesians 6:11-18

Every ancient person passed successfully because of their training in the Word. The essence of the capacity of God’s word is for the capacity to withstand the enemy’s darts. Learn the secrets of those who have gone ahead.

Ways to train the spirit

  1. Praying always with all prayer.
  2. Supplication in the Spirit.
  3. Persevered watching – this is having a “never give up” watch over your soul. You will become a victim of satanic attack if you don’t watch over your soul. So, pray before you go, check your spirit before you move.
  4. Supplications for the Saints.

Why persevered watching?

  1. To escape the attack of the adversary. Another word for persevered watching is Sobriety of the Spirit.
  2. It grants you access for the preservation of your faith. (1Corinthians 10:11-12, 1 Peter 5:7). Cultivate God-confidence When the eyes of the Lord are on you as a believer, you are preserved. Your confidence should not be built on anything but on Christ. You don’t know the validity of your spirit until appear before temptation.
  3. It delivers us from the spirit of no return Hebrews 6:1

When you backslide, it is difficult to return. Don’t ever try backsliding. You may not come back.

Prayer point: Father, grant me the strength to persevere and not backslide in the name of Jesus, Amen.

How do you activate your spirituality?

  1. Wisdom-power practice Proverbs 4:7.

Wisdom remains a fundamental tool for the believer. The practice of prayer is wisdom. Wisdom causes a man’s destiny to shine – Ecclesiastes 8:1. Through wisdom, we build our colorful destiny – Proverbs 24:3. The wisdom displayed in you gets people attracted to you. Show me a man moving with speed and I’ll show you a man walking in wisdom. Wisdom can be gotten. It enables you achieve success without stress. Wisdom power is much better than muscular power.

HOW TO PRACTICE WISDOM (THE WISDOM POWER TOOLS)

  1. The death and the Cross order of wisdom – this has to do with my salvation. 1 Corinthians 1:24, 2:7, 1 John 2:27, John 14:26
  2. The Spiritual Fatherhood order of wisdom: 1 Corinthians 11:1. It sharpens your mindset. It is God’s wisdom for divine speed.
  3. The Seed offering, sacrifice and tithing order of wisdom. If you must expect a harvest, plant a seed. Your seed could be your time, your money, your skill, e.t.c.
  4. The Speaking-faith order. Wisdom can be imparted. Wisdom power answers to prophetic declarations – Luke 21:15. Wisdom power enables us to prophesy into our lives – Job 22:28, Isaiah 43:26, Isaiah 54:17. Until you speak, your life can’t be fixed, your destiny can’t advance. Therefore, be ready to speak – Psalms 45:1.
  5. The Impartation order of wisdom – Deuteronomy 34:19

Prayer point: Father, release on me the wisdom I need to make my destiny colorful and prosperous in Jesus name, Amen.

Study Scripture: Joshua 1:8

This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. (NKJV)

Have you ever wondered why two people of the same social class don’t succeed at the same pace? It is simply because one is obeying the laws of success and the other is not.

What are these laws?

  1. The law of positive and scriptural thinking (Proverbs 4:23): you can never grow beyond the way you think. What is happening in your life today is a direct consequence of the way you think. Your life, family, finances and health are the way they are because of the way you think. The most important change you must make in your life is to change the way you think. It is not the environment that makes people but people make the environment. Success starts first and foremost in the mind. Until you begin to accept problem-solving as a lifestyle you will remain grounded. You don’t need more money rather you need a change in your mentality about money. You don’t need a better husband; what you need is a right mindset towards your husband.

Why do you need to think differently?

  1. You have a life to live
  2. You have a ministry to pursue
  3. You have a family to raise.

How do you change the way you think?

  1. You must embrace problem-solving as a lifestyle (John 2:1-9)
  2. You must be a committed writer and reader.

 

  1. The law of hardwork (Proverbs 22:29, Proverbs 12:11, 10:4): The first instruction that God gave man is work. Poverty answers to laziness. Your future is not a place you are going to, it is happening everyday. Hardwork will defeat talent if talent does not work hard. Start working hard to meet up with your goals.

Success comes by the combination of mental work, hard work and positive speaking (Ephesians 3:20)

Weekly Message: The Covenant Of Generational Success

Everything God is doing, He does it with a generational perspective. Anything that will last must have a generational undertone. Anything that will survive the hostility of the times must be willing to serve a generation (Luke 1:50).

What does it mean to access generational success? 

It simply means to think generational.

  1. To think generational is to think about the future
  2. To think generational is to think beyond your life
  3. To think generational is to think beyond your family
  4. To think generational is to think posterity and not prosperity

The sons of past Nigerian leaders are no where today because their fathers did not think posterity. Your riches will only last forever if you think generational. A prosperity that does not have a future undertone is futile, it may come quickly but it does not last forever. Posterity may take time but it will last forever (Isaiah 2:3)

When God deals with people, He deals with them according to generation (Psalms 109:13). When God blesses, He also visits them with a generational blessing. He treats according to generation (Genesis 50:23, Deuteronomy 23:2)

What is the demand of God on us for this generational success?

  1. For us to reverse and become a light to gentiles (Luke 16:8, Ecclesiastics 10:6-8)
  2. To serve Him, He is looking for those that will serve Him for life (Psalms 2:7-8, Mark 6:23-24, Esther 7:2-3)
