Walking In The Spirit : Becoming A True Soldier Part 17

Walking In The Spirit : Becoming A True Soldier Part 17

Walking in the Spirit

For the believer, living like a civilian in the midst of war exposes you to danger. Thus, you should be sober and vigilant. When the devil wants to pull you down through your spirit and he doesn’t succeed, he operates from the external i.e. physical through sickness, loss, lack, e.t.c. The devil cannot go for your spirit if he cannot weigh your spirit down.

Things I must understand as a believer:

  1. I have an enemy – the devil.
  2. I have been enlisted in God’s army.

The reason the believer is susceptible to the devil’s attacks and temptations is because the believer is not serious.

  1. I have a Commander.
  2. I have a uniform.
  3. I have my armor.
  4. I have my training.
  5. I have a victory.

Training in the Spirit means walking in the Spirit.

What does it mean to be trained in the Spirit?

  1. Walk in the Spirit Romans 8:1-4.

How do I walk in the Spirit?

  1. By being led by the Spirit and not by your senses Romans 8:14, 2 Peter 1:20-21

Because the battle is a spiritual one, it requires spiritual leading (of the HolySpirit)

Prayer point: Dear Lord, give me the grace to be led by you.

BECOMING A TRUE SOLDIER PART 16

BECOMING A TRUE SOLDIER PART 16

Training of the Spirit

Your spirit is the first point of attack; so when you are spiritually famished, your life is finished.                  (1 Corinthians 10:3). When you are not spiritually well fed, anything can have access to your spirit. Therefore, it takes the armor of God to overcome every form of deception of the devil.

What it takes to be a true soldier (training in the spirit)

  1. The training in the Word of God (Sword of the Spirit) Ephesians 6:11-18

Every ancient person passed successfully because of their training in the Word. The essence of the capacity of God’s word is for the capacity to withstand the enemy’s darts. Learn the secrets of those who have gone ahead.

Ways to train the spirit

  1. Praying always with all prayer.
  2. Supplication in the Spirit.
  3. Persevered watching – this is having a “never give up” watch over your soul. You will become a victim of satanic attack if you don’t watch over your soul. So, pray before you go, check your spirit before you move.
  4. Supplications for the Saints.

Why persevered watching?

  1. To escape the attack of the adversary. Another word for persevered watching is Sobriety of the Spirit.
  2. It grants you access for the preservation of your faith. (1Corinthians 10:11-12, 1 Peter 5:7). Cultivate God-confidence When the eyes of the Lord are on you as a believer, you are preserved. Your confidence should not be built on anything but on Christ. You don’t know the validity of your spirit until appear before temptation.
  3. It delivers us from the spirit of no return Hebrews 6:1

When you backslide, it is difficult to return. Don’t ever try backsliding. You may not come back.

Prayer point: Father, grant me the strength to persevere and not backslide in the name of Jesus, Amen.

SPIRITUALITY: THE FOUNDATION OF OUR DELIVERANCE AND COLORFUL DESTINY

SPIRITUALITY: THE FOUNDATION OF OUR DELIVERANCE AND COLORFUL DESTINY

How do you activate your spirituality?

  1. Wisdom-power practice Proverbs 4:7.

Wisdom remains a fundamental tool for the believer. The practice of prayer is wisdom. Wisdom causes a man’s destiny to shine – Ecclesiastes 8:1. Through wisdom, we build our colorful destiny – Proverbs 24:3. The wisdom displayed in you gets people attracted to you. Show me a man moving with speed and I’ll show you a man walking in wisdom. Wisdom can be gotten. It enables you achieve success without stress. Wisdom power is much better than muscular power.

HOW TO PRACTICE WISDOM (THE WISDOM POWER TOOLS)

  1. The death and the Cross order of wisdom – this has to do with my salvation. 1 Corinthians 1:24, 2:7, 1 John 2:27, John 14:26
  2. The Spiritual Fatherhood order of wisdom: 1 Corinthians 11:1. It sharpens your mindset. It is God’s wisdom for divine speed.
  3. The Seed offering, sacrifice and tithing order of wisdom. If you must expect a harvest, plant a seed. Your seed could be your time, your money, your skill, e.t.c.
  4. The Speaking-faith order. Wisdom can be imparted. Wisdom power answers to prophetic declarations – Luke 21:15. Wisdom power enables us to prophesy into our lives – Job 22:28, Isaiah 43:26, Isaiah 54:17. Until you speak, your life can’t be fixed, your destiny can’t advance. Therefore, be ready to speak – Psalms 45:1.
  5. The Impartation order of wisdom – Deuteronomy 34:19

Prayer point: Father, release on me the wisdom I need to make my destiny colorful and prosperous in Jesus name, Amen.

ENGAGING THE LAWS OF SUCCESS (II)

ENGAGING THE LAWS OF SUCCESS (II)

The laws of success are those rules that spells out how success can be achieved. Last week, we learnt about the law of mental work and hard work. Truly, until you sit down, think and take actions, you will get nowhere (Proverbs 22:29). The Laws include:

  1. Law of investing in Knowledge and Insight: Knowledge is being abreast with all the information you need. Investing in knowledge means sacrificing money, time and energy on materials for a worthwhile purpose. You can only advance in life if you invest in knowledge (Proverbs 4:7, 2Peter1:5)

What do I do in order to invest in knowledge?

  1. Fear God: you should gear God because He desires you to prosper (Proverbs1:7, Deuteronomy 8:18, 3 John1:2)
  2. Meditate on God’s word: if you must succeed, then meditate on God’s word (Joshua 1:8)
  3. Have a heart that is willing to learn and search: if you don’t have this heart, you will not go far. (Proverbs 18:15)
  4. Accept discipline: discipline is not sweet but you must accept it if you must succeed (Proverbs 12:1)

  1. Law of Life Coaching: Life is the period between your birth and death. A Life coach is simply having someone that will teach you to organize your life. If you live carelessly in this world without anybody directing your life, you will die before your time (1 John 2:15-17)

If you weren’t taught, you would not have known how to brush your teeth, birth yourself or feed yourself; it is the same with mentorship.

Mentorship is not hero worship but God’s wisdom for speedy accomplishments. It is riding on the shoulders of someone who is ahead of you in order to avoid his mistakes and advance your destiny. You have a lot of good things in your heart but it takes a wise mentor to draw them out (Proverbs 20:5)

Important Quotes:

  • Life is too short to be trekking; living without a mentor is like trekking from Owerri to Maiduguri for a job interview.
  • Struggling and frustration will continue until you subscribe to a mentor.
  • You are still where you are because you are comfortable there.
  • No place is too far to go in the search for knowledge.

Prayer line: Father today, I receive grace to invest in knowledge and submit to mentorship in the name of Jesus, Amen!
