The Training Of The Spirit Of Obedience

The Training Of The Spirit Of Obedience

Study Scripture:

No-one serving as a soldier gets involved in civilian affairs – he wants to please his commanding officer.

  • 2 Timothy 2:4 (NIV)

The training of Obedience is a Spirit-motivated training. You cannot be sacrificial in your service to God until the Spirit of Obedience is manifest in you. The Holy Spirit is the instructor in this training and as long as you yield to His leading, you will keep making progress in life. Just like there is a Spirit of Obedience, there is also the spirit of disobedience which yields only to destruction (Ephesians 2:1-2). As soldiers in this training, we must be obedient to the truth (Galatians 5:7). You’re receiving grace today in Jesus name. Amen

If you must be outstanding, then the spirit of obedience must be at work in you. A typical example of a life that succeeded outstandingly by obeying God is Abraham. Abraham obeyed God all the days of his life and he became the father of many nations, an icon of prosperity and blessing. Another example is the woman whom the Prophet Elijah asked to cook the only meal she had left for him. She obeyed him even though it was her last meal and she had planned to eat it with her son and die. After she obeyed the prophet, she never lacked food again (1 Kings 17:16).

Why this Training of The Spirit of Obedience?

  1. It is difficult to receive instructions without it
  2. It is difficult to interpret instructions accurately without it
  3. It is difficult to adhere to instructions without it

The Spirit of God and Divine Direction

The Spirit of God and Divine Direction

Your careless approach to God’s word makes God look like a joker. Only committed learners end up as celebrated leaders. Until you are willing to learn from the master, you can never lead. You sow and pay your tithe and yet don’t receive anything because you don’t do it right. Your giving must be propelled by love. Faith and love work hand in glove for you to really obey God. It takes the spirit of love and the spirit of faith for to be led by God. Your prayer is delayed because your love is not in place. God is the one that answers prayers, gives intelligence and cause your seed to bear fruit. It is not that you can pray like praying mantis and your hard work. It is God’s grace (1 Corinthians 15:10). God is seeking for true lovers. It was David’s love for God and His people that made the catapult able to kill Goliath (1 Samuel 17:45-46). It is suicidal for you to expect becoming a generational without love for God.

ACTIVATING THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM

ACTIVATING THE KEYS OF THE KINGDOM

SUB TOPIC:   THE TOOL OF PRECISE DIRECTION (A NO MISTAKE IDENTITY OF THE KINGDOM)

God’s leading gives profit to a man’s life. God’s leading shuts down the wrong doors in a man’s life and opens the right doors. His leadings helps you escape corruption and His direction is correction (2 timothy 3:16). Every success in destiny, future and life answers to Gods voice which is His leading.

WHAT THEN IS THIS TOOL

  • it is a cardinal point for wisdom; life is difficult without precise direction.(Genesis 26:2)
  • it is a stress controller and energy reservoir; frustration in life continues outside Gods direction. ( Isaiah 58:11)

HOW CAN WE ACCESS THE LEADING/DIRECTION OF GOD

  • by humility.(psalm 32:8-9)
  • By prayer.

PRAYER: Father order my steps and deliver me from death traps in my destiny, health, marriage, business, academics in Jesus’ name

KINGDOM LIFESTYLES FOR FINISHING STRONG – THE DEEP-ROOTED LIFESTYLE

KINGDOM LIFESTYLES FOR FINISHING STRONG – THE DEEP-ROOTED LIFESTYLE

Study Scripture Luke9:23, Heb12:1-4

BUT THERE IS NO SOIL OF CHARACTER, AND SO WHEN THE EMOTIONS WEAR OFF AND SOME DIFFICULTY ARRIVES, THERE IS NOTHING TO SHOW FOR IT. (MSG) Matthew 13:21

I heard the story of a pastor who was asking God for the rent for his church and received an alert of #950, 000 instead of #150, 000. He was overexcited and in less than 24 hours he had already burnt #500, 000. The woman who paid in the money came asking for the money as it was not her intention to send such a huge amount. On realizing that the pastor has spent bulk of the money, the woman involved the police. The situation proved that the pastor lost his personality before money, the police and the woman as he didn’t bother to confirm the source of payment before spending the money. It then follows that the pastor was not deeply rooted in his convictions.

The scripture in Mathew 13:20-21 explains that difficult situations we face come to try the word of God we have received. That bankruptcy, academic failure, delayed marriage, absence of business contracts are there to try the word of faith and promises of God you have received. Until you are deeply rooted in your convictions, circumstances can sweep your feet off Christ. Receive grace to stay rooted in Christ!

The relevance of the deep-rooted lifestyle

  1. Shallowness is the beginning of a life of failure and backsliding
  2. Shallow living makes the believer a cheap prey to compromise
  3. Shallow living creates in the heart of the believer alternative to the truth
  4. Shallow living compels the believer to throw caution into the wind
  5. The deep-rooted lifestyle is what preserves the believer from being blown off by winds of doctrine
  6. The deep-rooted lifestyle is the strength and ability of the believer when what he believes is under attack
